Autumn: The Young Bush Hunter

Is your child interested to learn where their meat comes from? Are they keen to understand what it means to be an ethical hunter?  We welcome your child to join us as we learn what it means to honor animals whose lives ended so that we could eat.  In this unique course, we will share with your child knowledge and skills. We will play eco-literacy games, learn tracking skills, and process one animal together before enjoying fresh and wild organic meat.  In this course, we will start with the foundations of  what it means to hunt wild game while showing reverence and respect, and learn to take responsibilty of where our food comes from.  Through this, we will explore our understanding of life and death in the wild in a supportive environment.  In doing so, your child will deepen their sense of place, and continue their connection and awareness of the natural world.   This course will be led by hunters, Emilio Kennedy and Laura Beck. 

With our small class sizes, we will still operate in Covid Level Red while following Community Health Guidelines . 

Age: 8 - 13-year-olds  (not for the squeemish)

Time: 9 - 3.30pm 

Location:  Maanaki Mai,  Purau
