About the Programme
Come along to our outdoor bush classroom for a day, and get some professional development in traditional crafts, with our master craftsman, John Lawry. In this one-day workshop, we will explore
- Links with our natural environment as an agent in teaching and learning
- Using traditional crafts (whittling, fire-making, coal bowls etc)
- Holistic, whole-person experiential learning, supporting the full development of learners
- Health and Safety
- Campfire skills
"John is a world leader in the Outdoor Classroom movement, teaching teachers skills to help build their confidence to bring learning outside."
John Lawry has been teaching for 40+ years in woodwork and blacksmithing, within an outdoor classroom environment. More recently he has toured in both Australia and New Zealand, teaching this craft to teachers, youth workers and community leaders in the field.
